As you might know the local gay scene in Reykjavik is very small but it´s open and friendly. Frequently you´ll find the local venues mixed with gays and straight people having fun together. The gay places to goto are Barbara, MSC Iceland (men only) and the Queer center, all to be found on Laugavegur within few minutes walk from each other.
Barbara has become popular among the local gay crowd and is located on Laugarvegur 22. On Laugavegur 28 you will find MSC Iceland, a social club for gay men into leather, rubber, uniforms and jeans and the heart of the leather scene in Iceland. Don´t let the leather scare you as denim and t-shirt will do. MSC is popular among men who want to enjoy the manly atmosphere where loud music is not taking over the conversation.
The Queer center is located on Laugavegur 3 and has a small cafe & library which is open Monday and Thursday evenings from 8 pm - 23.00 pm. Opening hours might be shorter during summer (July).
