BEARS ON ICE, Iceland´s annual bear event, is just around the corner, but the festival kicks off September 3rd with a Welcome Party at Iðusalir in Reykjavik´s city Center. Over 150 bears and friends from all over the world are coming for the event in September to enjoy what Iceland has to offer including sight seeing tours, visit to the world famous Blue lagoon and some partying as well.

"We´re expecting lots of fun this year. We have a special guest this year, the Chicago born, Brooklyn-based queer rapper Big Dipper who is to perform during the weekend" says Frosti Jonsson one of the organizers. "Big Dipper is to perform on stage during the main party Saturday night (September 5th) at the National Theater Basement (Þjóðleikhúskjallarinn) and we´re also pleased to announce that GóGó Starr Iceland´s newly crowned Drag Queen 2015 will be performing on stage as well. So get ready for some good fun and a great party. We´re also hoping to see more Icelanders showing up for the parties, specially for the main party Saturday night, they´ve been a bit shy through the years but fortunately that is changing" adds Frosti.

BEARS ON ICE has been a huge success in it´s 11 year history with more and more bears and friends showing up every year from almost every corner of the world. And the event has also become one of Iceland´s biggest annual queer events. It´s still a relatively small event and we want to keep it that way. It´s first and foremost a social event where men from all over the world meet up, mingle and have a good time for a few days in the world´s northernmost capital" says Frosti Jonsson.
