Little Gay Reykjavík, Queer History and Anecdotes, is a new book and an interesting read by Guðjón Ragnar Jónasson.  "Pillars of Desperation and Anticipation,” spiteful queens, gay men in olden days, and outings to a green grove— are some of the subjects covered in Little Gay Reykjavík.

It tells a story of a culture hidden from most of us, tragicomic memories of a nightlife on Laugavegur,  simultaneously exploring the Sagas of Icelanders and remembering milestones in the long and tough battle for rights and visibility. The book is available in English and is highly recommended to everyone who wants to get a glimpse of the past and look to the past which paved the way for the future. Author Guðjón Ragnar is a teacher at the upper secondary school Menntaskólinn in Reykajvík. He both works and lives in the Reykjavik.
