    ILGA-Europe, The European Region of the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association, has released its 2015 ILGA-Europe Rainbow Map, reflecting the National legal and policy human rights situation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and interest (LGBTI) people in Europe. Iceland came in 8th place in their 2014 Index but drops down to number 12th on the list. The total score for Iceland remains about the same (63%) but Malta’s rise to 3rd in ILGA´s 2015 rating is undoubted...

    Club Kiki, the newest Queer Club in Reykjavik located on Laugavegur 22, the queerest corner in Reykjavik, where many of Reykjavik´s best known gay club have had its home in the past. Kiki offers good music, fun atmo and nice crowd.  Kiki is open Fridays and Saturdays from 11 pm to 4.30 am.

    Queer Center is open Thursday  evenings from  from 20:00 to 23:00. Good place to meet and mingle. Office is open every day from 1 pm - 5 pm. Samtökin ‘78The National Queer Organization, is an interest and an activist group for homosexuals, bisexuals and transsexuals in Iceland. The organisation’s goal is for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual persons to be visible and recognised and enjoy their rights to the fullest in Icelandic society.

    Samtökin ‘78 run a community centre in downtown Reykjavík, located on Suðurgata 3 and open for all. Open house on Mondays and Thursday evenings, with a varied programme of events advertised on the organisation’s website; www.samtokin78.is. See location on a MAP.
